For over twelve years, The Community Learning Center has been a place where children with learning challenges are understood, not labeled. We are a small, family-oriented school, and we keep our classes small, our routines steady, and our hearts open, so that students who have struggled elsewhere can finally find their footing and their confidence.
Tucked behind a bright tropical mural on Carmichael Road West, our doors open every school day to families looking for patience, structure, and real progress. Here, every child and every family is treated like part of ours.
“All children can learn, some just learn differently.”
We would love to show you around and talk about your child. Reach out, call, or stop by the bright mural on Carmichael Road West.

As owner and operator, Dr. Burrows-Morley has spent more than twenty years building The Community Learning Center into a place families trust. Her belief is simple and unwavering: every child carries the ability to learn, and the job of a good school is to find the door that opens for them.
“All children can learn, some just learn differently.”
— Dr. Janessa Burrows-Morley
Every student arrives with a different story. Our programs are built to bend around those stories, blending academics, life skills, and steady encouragement.
Reading, writing and math taught at each student's own pace, with goals set to their level and reviewed as they grow.
Calm, consistent routines and positive guidance that help students manage emotions and build friendships.
Practical, everyday skills woven into the school day so older students gain confidence and readiness for life beyond the classroom.
We welcome students ages 8 to 18 living with a range of learning and developmental challenges. If your child learns differently, there is very likely a place for them here.
This is personal work, and Dr. Burrows-Morley runs it that way. She knows her students by name, by mood, and by what makes each of them light up. The relationships she builds with the children are the heart of the school, and that closeness is exactly what helps them feel safe enough to try, to stumble, and to grow.
